Cibra’s official history says Cibrafértil was founded in 1994, Omimex acquired Cibrafértil in 2012, and Cibrafértil was renamed Cibra in 2017. A company white paper supplies the more detailed transaction chain: OFD Holding, parent of Grupo Abocol—Abonos Colombianos—acquired Cibrafértil in 2012; when the controlling shareholders sold Abocol to Yara in 2013, Cibrafértil was left out of that sale.
